This is a Very inspiring individual! In spite of the odds against her, she had the courage, tenacity, and "DRIVE" to BE and "DEFINE" her "MOMENT"!

" They said I couldn’t, so I did! From not wanting to drive after my accident to becoming an independent wheelchair user behind the wheel. Driving is my safe space, and it’s unlocked a level of freedom I needed in my recovery journey. Don’t be fooled, it took learning this technique,dedication and countless hours of lifting weights. What you see is a result of a year in therapy, but it’s a reminder that with perseverance, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Learning to drive despite my disability has been a game-changer, relieving post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms and anxiety that flared up when I wasn’t in control of the wheel. Driving is therapeutic because it’s a task we all naturally do while sitting.I’m using adaptive hand controls to operate the vehicle since I have no movement in my legs.

So, if you’re a paraplegic wondering if you can drive, remember: where there’s a ‘wheel,’ there’s a way. I encourage others to do research and ask their therapists to explain what they need to do to drive. You have the power to break barriers and seize your dreams! 🙌🏼💫

Please note, the tear in my wheelchair is a temporary setback. I’ve ordered an expensive additional seat that isn’t covered by insurance, and it takes weeks to arrive. In the meantime, I’m not letting it hold me back!

There are several ways to transfer into a vehicle.& I could complain about how much I have to to and figure out but somewhere there’s a person in a wheelchair praying for this type of freedom.
